Afrochella Festival Back After A Year Break

The 4th edition of the annual Afrochella Festival will take place at El Wak Stadium on 28th December, 2021 after a year break due to covid-19 pandemic.

Afrochella is a festival designed to elevate and highlight the thriving millennial talent, vibrant work of African creatives and entrepreneurs within the continent.

The day features a festive celebration of our culture in the form of Art & Fashion Installations, Live Painting, Best of African Cuisine and Live Performances from talented musicians in Africa.

The 2019 Afrochella event was a celebration of Ghana’s historical  Year of Return, where  diasporans  trooped into Ghana to explore the African culture and to trace their roots to their ancestors.

The theme for this year’s festival is “Afrofuturism” to explore the developing intersection of cultural aesthetic, philosophy of science, and philosophy of history as it relates to the African Diaspora.

Afrochella will bring “Afrofuturism” to life through fashion, food, art and music performance from Africa, according to the organizers

The event will start on 26th December, 2021 to January 4th 2022 with a visit to tourist attractions in Ghana including Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park, Boti Falls, Aburi Botanical Garden and many places of interest.

In 2019, Afrochella attracted thousands of people from different countries to celebrate Africa’s diverse culture and the number is expected to double  this year.
