Surviving As a Female Artiste Is Easy – Fantana

Fantana

GHANAIAN musician, Fantana has debunked perceptions that thriving in the music industry as a female in the country is not an easy task because you need to work harder to match up with the male counterparts.

The “So What” singer asserted that it was very easy surviving in the music industry as a female once you found your mojo.

“As a woman, it is easy to survive because there are loads of different things you can do, whether you have your own business, whether you are married, there are just different ways. All that you need is to find your power,” she said in an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, June 5.

According to Fantana, once you play your cards well and you are accepted into the industry, you are good to go.

“Female artistes have less responsibilities as compared to a man. The men need to go the extra mile in getting their branding right in order to appeal to their fans. There is also the responsibility that comes with being a man in the family among others, there is pressure and you need to be extra focused, hardworking and dedicated if you want to blow. But for us, you can even get it right from the start and you are in,” she said.

Touching on what we can do to make the industry more vibrant, the No Dulling singer mentioned support.

“In the music industry, what we can do better is to support each other, not just by words but by really taking action, putting in efforts to make it happen as well,” Fantana said.

Touching on her music, she said she was back for good after taking a year-long hiatus.

“Yes, I am back in the music world for good and I am under a new management called Code Management and we are working together”.

To show that she is back for real, she has a new song, You Man which was released days after she gained attention for her ‘controversial’ role in the Netflix original series, Young, Famous and African.

The song, which is an Afro-Dancehall tune produced by Streetbeatz talks about Fantana getting any man she wants if she desired it.
