Esther Cachana Crowned Miss Health Ghana 2024
Ms. Kujori Esther Cachana, a licensed radiographer and model, has been crowned Miss Health Ghana 2024.
The grand finale of this year’s Miss Health Ghana was held at the plush Marriott Hotel in Accra, with nine contestants vying for the ultimate crown as well as various prizes.
The judges on pageant night, including Dr. Grace Buckman, Dr. Amankra Kojo Sobboh, Alice Mamaga Akosua, and Madam Eunice, evaluated contestants based on their presentation skills, runway walk, and eloquence.
At the end of the contest, Ms. Cachana impressed judges and was adjudged winner of the contest following her project on “Minamata,” a disease caused by severe mercury poisoning.
During her presentation, Ms Cachana stressed the importance on creating awareness of the “Minamata” disease especially in an era where issues of illegal mining has become a topical in Ghana
Speaking in an interview after being crowned Queen, Ms Cachana said “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported me from here in Ghana and everyone around the world. Their words of encouragement boosted my morale, and I fought through to the end.”
She added that she was poised to continue her campaign on increasing awareness of the devastating effect of the “Minamata” diseases and influence stakeholder decisions on how to curtail the menace.
Madam Gladys Akyere Rockson, Chief Executive Officer of Lamrock Agency, the organisers of the pageant, congratulated all the finalists for their brilliant presentations.
“First and foremost, I want to congratulate the queens on their accomplishments, and I hope that they will go out there and have an impact on society.
“Health, as we all know, is of the utmost importance to all, and we decided to create this platform to sensitise the masses about various issues, including the need for health and women’s empowerment,” said Madam Akyere Rockson.
This year’s pageant was on the theme, “Health Through Innovation for a Healthier and Sustainable Future,” and saw various contestants make presentations on various health projects.
Contestants including Maame Afua Ohenewaa (Prostate Cancer Awareness), Jacqueline Fosu (First Aid and Fire Safety) Codjie Maud (Hepatitis C Awareness Initiative), Eno Gyamfua (Women’s Reproductive Health) and Ruth Fepie Ndichafah (Hypertension), among others thrilled audience with their presensations.
This year’s Miss Health Ghana was supported by PMMC, Marriott Hotel and Sonotech.
