Two Remanded Over 70 Wraps Of “Wee”
An Accra Circuit Court has remanded two persons into police custody for allegedly possessing 70 wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, popularly known as “Wee”.
Joseph Nunoo, 32 and Kwadwo Sefa, 18, denied the charges.
They will make their next appearance on February 20.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Gulliver Kwabena Tenkorang told the Court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh, that Nunoo was unemployed whilst Sefa was a drinking bar operator and are all residents of Accra.
He said on February 5, police on a swoop at notorious drug peddling areas arrested the two at Taifa-Burkina, a suburb of Accra.
The Prosecution said a search on the two revealed the wraps as well as GH?105.00 believed to be the proceeds from the sale of the substance.
Chief Inspector Tenkorang said the exhibit has been since been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for examination.
