Accra Fashion Week closes the 2024 African Fashion Calendar with a bang

Accra Fashion Week 2024 concluded its vibrant celebration of fashion, culture, and innovation, solidifying its status as Africa’s premier fashion event. Held from December 18th to 22nd at the iconic Ghana Dubai venue near the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, the event attracted fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, and media from around the globe.

Diverse Designer Lineup

The week featured an impressive roster of 22 designers representing a multitude of countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, the United Kingdom, the United States, and more. Designers such as Fohrella, Mikoko Deluxe, BeFree from Burkina Faso, Style by Magbrien, and Ashara from Senegal unveiled their latest collections, showcasing a harmonious blend of traditional African aesthetics and contemporary fashion trends. Also collections were shown by Mikoko Deluxe, Aaley, Kimowa, Ama Serwaa (UK), Draped By Palm, Flat17 Studio (Nigeria), Terry Thobani (Malawi), Odefille, NKB (Nigeria), UDEFINEU, JKU Collections, Kustom Looks, Myra Wallace Collections (USA), Bella Faso, Psalmy Exclusives (Nigeria), Me By Lee (USA), Prince Awortwe, House Of Trose (Cameroon).

Star-Studded Attendance

The event was graced by notable celebrities and influencers, with appearances by media mogul Bola Ray and renowned musician Okyeame Kwame, among others. Their presence added a touch of glamour and underscored the event’s significance in the global fashion calendar.

  • Accra Fashion Fair: Returning by popular demand, the fair took place on December 21st and 22nd at Ghana Dubai, providing a platform for designers and artisans to exhibit and sell their creations, fostering direct engagement with consumers.
