Armed robbers shoot MoMo vendor; bolt with GH₵120K

A 34-year-old Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor is in critical condition at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital after being shot by two armed robbers.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night at Amanfrom American Down.

The suspects who were riding a motorbike, attacked Famous Fiagbe around 10:00 pm as he locked his shop.

According to police sources, the robbers made off with GH₵120,000 and mobile phones.

Narrating the incident, Fiagbe’s mother, Favour Dikah, who witnessed the attack said, “They shot my son multiple times, demanding his bag and money.”

“They fired over five bullets before fleeing with the bag.”

Dikah appealed to the Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for assistance, stating the stolen money didn’t belong to her son.

“The phones they took had significant amounts of money,” she added.

The police are investigating the incident.
