Doing Secular Songs No Big Deal – Gospel Act Aimee Zillionaire

Aimee Zillionaire

GOSPEL musician Aimee Zillionaire, says she has no problem doing secular songs and has asked her colleagues not to be restricted in the kind of songs they do.

In her view, mentioning God’s name in a song is not a measure of one’s righteousness since there are secular artistes such as Kofi Kinaata whose songs make more sense than those of some Gospel artistes.

“Ghanaians are jamming to Things Fall Apart because of the content and not necessarily because of the artiste.

“So far as I am not promoting promiscuity or encouraging people to smoke ‘weed’ but singing about love and giving hope to the hopeless, I don’t see anything wrong doing secular songs. I am a staunch Christian but I am okay doing secular songs,” she told Graphic Showbiz.

To anyone who may be worried about her position, Aimee Zillionaire, who has songs including Work, Show Dem and My Own, said it was only God who can judge her and not a mortal being like herself.

“When you have a clean heart about what you are doing just go ahead and do it and don’t think about what others will say. I didn’t have any problem with Nacee doing secular songs because they were full of wisdom.

“If a man of God can talk about sex, ‘weed’ and advise the youth to stay away from them, why can’t I also do secular songs and win souls for God if I can reach the masses with that,” she said.’

A graduate of the Global Institute of Aviation, Aimee has performed in many churches and is presently promoting her latest work Bad Man Love.

Released about a month ago, the song stresses the fact that not all men are bad and there are genuine ones out there who love wholeheartedly.

“I once had a Rastafarian boyfriend and people spoke ill about him because of his looks but he turned out to be a very good guy and that is the message I want to put across in Bad Man Love, that looks are not always important when it comes to love,” Aimee said.
