EOCO arrests 3 over alleged drone flights at headquarters

Three persons have been arrested after drones were allegedly flown over the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) while the agency was carrying out investigations involving Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah.

The arrests were made on Thursday, October 1, 2026, after security personnel detected the drones hovering over the EOCO premises in Accra.

Although details surrounding the incident remain unclear, the suspects, including a woman, are said to be assisting investigators to determine who operated the drones and the purpose of the flights.

The development comes at a time when EOCO’s investigations involving Mr Baffour Awuah have attracted significant public attention.

The anti-graft agency has been pursuing the legislator in connection with allegations of unauthorised financial transactions and the dissipation of public funds.

EOCO recently obtained a warrant for his arrest, after he failed to honour invitations to assist with investigations.

This development has raised fresh questions about possible attempts to monitor activities at the agency as the probe continues.

Neither EOCO nor the police have publicly disclosed the identities of the suspects or indicated whether any charges have been filed.
