First Lady Fetes 1,000 School Children At Jubilee House

First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has hosted her annual New Year day party for over a thousand school children at the Jubilee House in Accra.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and his wife, Hajia Samira Bawumia, as well as other Ministers of State were in attendance.

The Children drawn from across the country from various backgrounds, attended the lunch party and were treated to assorted food and drinks, with fun games, on bouncy castles and roller coaster train rides.

They were also offered a guided tour of the Jubilee House to see at first hand, the layout, structure and history of the seat of Government.

Both President Akufo-Addo and Mrs Akufo-Addo took turns to advise the children to study hard and take advantage of the Free Senior High School programme to acquire secondary education.

They said attending a secondary school would afford them the opportunity to further their studies for general development.

Mrs Akufo-Addo has been hosting the annual children’s event for years, even before she assumed the office of the first Lady.
