Greater Accra Regional Tourism Awards: Tang Palace emerges Best Four-Star Hotel
Tang Palace Hotel emerged the Best Four-Star Hotel at this year’s Greater Accra Regional Tourism Awards of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
This comes after the hotel won a similar award at the International Travel Awards in Dubai a couple of weeks ago.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, who chaired the function, commended the management and staff of the hotel for the feat chalked up.
He urged stakeholders in the sector to leverage innovation to enhance the country’s tourism offerings, attract more visitors and sustain a tourism model that would benefit the economy and local communities.
The minister further called on industry players to use digital solutions for enhanced customer experience, sustainable practices and creative culinary offerings to shape the future of tourism.
“Our beautiful country stands on the brink of even greater global recognition as a premier destination for leisure, culture and adventure,” he added.
Appreciation
The General Manager of Tang Palace hotel, Sajid Khan, expressed appreciation over the development, and said the facility was dedicated to enhancing its stay in the country by investing in contemporary facilities.
Later in an interview with the Daily Graphic, he said the hotel would continue to track preferences of guests and utilise their feedback to fashion measures to improve their comfort and convenience.
He dedicated the two awards to management, staff and their guests for their hard work and patronage, pledging the hotel’s continuous pursuit of excellence and innovation in the hospitality industry.
“We continuously invest in staff development, providing ongoing training to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to offer exceptional service.
“This has led to a strong, motivated workforce that shares the hotel’s vision for success,” Mr Khan added.
He said the hotel had since its inception delivered exceptional guest experiences through personalised and attentive service.
“We focus on understanding the needs of our guests, offering value for money and consistently exceeding their expectations, whether for business stays, corporate events, or special occasions.
“This award will further motivate us to continue setting new benchmarks in the country’s hospitality industry,” Mr Khan said.
Prospects
Sharing some insights into future prospects for the hotel industry in the country, the GM said that although the hospitality sector was significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, business had since picked up.
He said people were becoming more interested in exploring local destinations and adopting digital technologies in the sector following their experiences during the pandemic.
“Tang Palace Hotel will continue to create attractive packages for local tourists, while focusing on communication, problem solving and customer service skills.
“From the moment they arrive to when they depart, we aim to create memorable experiences that will keep them coming back and recommending our hotel to others,” Mr Khan further said.
