Joseph Otsiman – Striving To Find a Nitch In Hollywood

It has been many years and still the Ghanaian film industry continuously graces our screens with amazing talents of varying backgrounds. From the likes of current known stars like Joseph Otsiman, there is no doubt more talents will be joining him on the bigger stage to claim bigger titles in the global film industry as many new acts do look up to him with his uniqueness to acting.

Joseph Otsiman is a Ghanaian Actor based in Sekondi Takoradi in Ghana. A writer, a producer, radio presenter and a DJ who for many people here in Ghana, the rest of Africa and Europe, is Kojo, the lead character in the current trending movie The Burial of Kojo, which was directed by Blitz Bazawule. He also played a key role in the movie The Cursed Ones, which lead to his nomination for the AMAAs AWARDS in 2015 and was his first feature film. He was also a cast in the popular film Keteke.

He has been active within the acting career of his life since 2006 and according to him draws inspiration from life itself. He notes loving to observe everyday in the pattern of normal lifestyle and accordingly he sees something extraordinary that he had not seen earlier.

Born on June 3, 1989, 29 years old now, Joseph attended Nana Brempong Basic and Junior High school and went to Takoradi Senior high school where he studied science. He later continued at the National Institute of Information Technology [NIIT].

He has a higher height dream and it is to be recognized globally as one of the greatest actors to ever live and to positively transform minds with his arts. Following this dream is his favorite quote “Everything is possible if you put your mind to it”. To him it is the most powerful statement many people look down on. He believes that if everyone put their minds to work on things, we would all advance in life for the mind is the most powerful tool before our mouth. And if he has any words for new up and coming acts he has this to say.

“There is no sympathy for mediocre in art and therefore we shouldn’t give chance to it in any of our works. We should stretch to our best selves when doing our work of art and not treat it as though we are new and amateur and that is why education is a must, get training with or without school and know what our mentors know and are getting to know”

Whilst working his way up the ladder of higher status in the film industry across Africa and Europe, he is overseeing to a production house name Green Yard Entertainment noted for short films and web series which he is a co founder and currently working on producing his own short films.

Joseph is adding up to the stars in the film industry with his creative and natural talent and it’s not a surprise he won the spot for lead role in his current movie The Burial of Kojo.
