Man allegedly kills wife during dispute over phone

Police in the Bono Region are investigating a tragic domestic incident that resulted in the death of 30-year-old Esther David after a confrontation with her husband, identified as Abraham.

According to preliminary police information, the altercation began when Esther requested to use a mobile phone, which Abraham allegedly refused.

A struggle reportedly followed, during which Esther fell unconscious. She was later confirmed dead from injuries sustained during the confrontation.

Sources close to the family say the couple had a history of domestic disputes, with neighbours recalling previous episodes of tension in the home.

The situation is further compounded by reports that Esther had recently undergone surgery, a condition that may have made her more vulnerable during the incident.

Police say the suspect is currently assisting with investigations, while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
