Meet The Ghana’s Most Beautiful Contestants

Some of the girls outdoored last week Sunday

Media General’s TV3 Network, organisers of the Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) pageant, has launched this year’s edition of the show at a colourful ceremony at its studio in Accra last Sunday.

The launch, which was held live, unveiled all 16 contestants of the pageant.

The theme for this year’s event is “Uniquely Ghanaian, exceptionally African”.

Due to the restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this year, the organisers have created a spacious environment for the guests as they observe all the social and physical distancing protocols.

Showcasing Ghanaian culture
Delivering a speech at the launch, the General Manager of Media General Television, Mr Francis Doku, said: “GMB is a platform for showcasing the rich Ghanaian culture. We will ensure that we have the most exciting and refreshing programme that will promote culture.”

He said culture was one of the most significant factors of development in any nation, noting that TV3 was proud to provide a platform to express this.

“We are back here to start another journey of choosing a new national cultural icon to take over from Central Region’s Ekua as Ghana’s Most Beautiful Queen in 2020.

“Through these ladies, we shall show these qualities of our country and continent to the world,” he added.

Contestants
The 16 contestants are Talata, Upper East Region; Maali, Upper West Region; Yennube, North East Region; Abiba, Savannah Region; and Zuzu, Northern Region.

The others are Asaa, Bono East Region; Afia, Bono Region; Abena, Ahafo Region; Achiaa, Ashanti Region; Ofosua, Eastern Region; Adjoa, Western North Region; Efua, Western Region; and Afriyie, Central Region.

The judges, Ms Linda Ampah, Mr Adjetey Anang and Ms Michelle Antoh, expressed their eagerness to see a lot from the contestants.

“We are looking forward to lots of surprises, authenticity, elegance and class. We look forward to them coming out of their shells and representing their regions in their true selves.”

Rewards
As was done last year, this year, your family newspaper, The Mirror, will be partnering the organisers to reward viewers and guests of the programme.
