Not Ready To Work In Media Now – Nikki Samonas

SHE was vivacious as one of the co-hosts of TV Africa’s morning show Breakfast Live and though actress Nikki Samonas earned praise for her presenting skills, it looks like she has no plan on getting back into the media, at least not for now.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz recently, Nikki said she has found a new passion as a Master of Ceremonies (MC) and she is focusing on that.

Her decision, she said, was in consultation with her management who have turned down proposals from TV stations that want to work with her.

“I have been approached by many media houses but my management has not accepted any of the offers. They take decisions on my behalf by deciding on my next move and what they deem right for my professional growth.

“But I won’t say that I’m completely done with television hosting because when together with my management, I think the time is right for me to join, I will definitely come back on air but for now, I’m concentrating on my emceeing gigs,” she stated.

According to Nikki, who is also a model, she is trying on other hats including emceeing since the movie industry has slumped.

“Sincerely, I wish things were much better with our movie sector than they are now because productions across the country have been slow. I still get scripts for roles but the numbers are not encouraging as in previous years where you could get 15 scripts in a year,” she said.

Since her relationship with colleague actor, Ecow Smith Asante, ended, Nikki has been discreet about her love life and she told Graphic Showbiz it was necessary to keep her private life out of the public eye.

“The fact that I’m a celebrity doesn’t mean everything about me should be out there because I have a right to own my privacy so I want that part of my life to stay in the background,” she stated.

Nikki Samonas has starred in a number of movies including My First Wife, Ladies and Gentlemen, Things We Do For Love and Beyonce The President Daughter.
