One dead, 16 injured in Peki Tsame road accident

One person has died while 16 others sustained injuries, following a road accident at Peki Tsame near Mawutor Inn on the Peki–Asikuma highway.

The incident occurred after a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number GT 7012-24 reportedly suffered a rear tyre burst and somersaulted.

In a Facebook post on Friday, February 13, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said personnel from the Peki Fire Station, led by ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, swiftly responded to the scene and rescued the trapped victims.

The injured passengers, made up of eight males, seven females and one child, were handed over to the National Ambulance Service and transported to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment.

The GNFS indicated that one of the victims later died at the hospital, while the remaining casualties are reported to be in stable condition.
