A three-day protest by concerned Ghanaians against illegal mining has hit the streets of Accra with hundreds of people demanding galamsey to stop now. The concerned citizens are also calling on the government to release 53 detainees of democracy hub who were unlawfully arrested during their demonstration against illegal mining on 23rd September 2024. The protesters are urging the government to protect the water bodies in the country, which are in jeopardy as a result of illegal mining activities in various forests in Ghana.
