Security Officer Shot Dead by Armed Robbers

A 64- year -old private security officer, Yaw Takyi of Black Hook Security Limited was on Friday dawn murdered by some suspected armed robbers at a filling station at Chiraa in the Sunyani West District.

The robbers made away with some unspecified amount of money kept in a drawer at the filling station.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Franklin Kramo, the Sunyani Municipal Police Commander confirmed to the Ghana News Agency that one Kingsley Amoah, the Manager of the station reported the incident to the Police on that Friday morning.

He said the Police proceeded to the scene and found the deceased lying in a supine position in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound on the head.

DSP Kramo said there was a sign of struggling at the scene and a wooden drawer kept at the place was broken but the safe was intact.

He said, the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Sunyani Regional Hospital, and that, the Police had commenced investigation into the matter to apprehend the suspects.

DSP Kramo appealed to the public to assist the Police with the necessary information that could lead to the arrest of the robbers.
