Several injured in triple collision at Tadieso Junction on Palm Sunday

Several persons sustained injuries after a three-vehicle collision at Tadieso, near the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Techiman Distance Learning Centre junction on the Techiman–Kumasi road on Palm Sunday morning.

The crash, which occurred around 10:00 a.m. during a heavy downpour, involved a Kia Picanto taxi (GS 3644-19), a Toyota Corolla saloon car (GT 4164-20), and a tipper truck (GS 1139-25), all travelling towards Kumasi.

Eyewitnesses say the taxi had just dropped off students at the UEW learning centre and was returning when the collision occurred.

The tipper truck was moving from Techiman towards Kumasi, while the Toyota Corolla was also heading in the same direction at the time of the incident.

Although no fatalities were recorded, several victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital for treatment.

Police officers later arrived at the scene to manage traffic and ease congestion along the busy stretch, while investigations have commenced to determine the cause of the accident.

The incident has renewed concerns about road safety, particularly during rainy conditions, with authorities urging motorists to exercise caution to prevent similar crashes.
