Teenager arrested for allegedly shooting ‘Okada’ rider to death at Adugyama
A teenage boy is alleged to have shot dead a commercial motorcycle ‘Okada’ rider at Adugyama in the Ahafo Ano South-East District of the Ashanti Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, about 18 years old, fled the scene with the motorbike, leaving the victim to surrender to his injuries.
He was however involved in an accident, leading to his arrest.
The incident occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, March 4, where the suspect, believed to be 18 years old, allegedly shot the Okada rider to death.
The suspect fled the scene to escape arrest, but in a dramatic turn of events, he was involved in an accident and rushed to the Mankranso Hospital for treatment.
The situation took a volatile turn when a group of Okada riders, seeking justice for their fallen colleague, stormed the hospital.
The police intervened to prevent further violence and ensured the suspect’s safety.
The boy is in police custody, assisting police investigation.
But the Adugyama community is still reeling from the shock of the incident.
