‘The Perfect Picture, 10 Years Later’ Premieres
When award-winning filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso sets out to do something, she does it with style and class and that is exactly what she has done with the sequel to The Perfect Picture, titled The Perfect Picture, 10 Years Later.
The Perfect Picture, 10 Years Later was premiered to an overly excited audience on Sunday, December 1 at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The audience, which included cast and crew of the movie watched the movie with rapt attention, reacting accordingly as scene by scene rolled.
BY the time the end credits rolled, it was obvious that everyone had had an amazing time watching the movie, thanks to all the effort that had been put in by Shirley and her team.
The Perfect Picture, 10 Years Later continues the story of the three beautiful friends, Aseye (Jackie Appiah), Dede (Lydia Forson) and Akese (Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku).
After 10 years, the girls are older, wiser and saddled with more issues in their not so fairy-tale relationships. It’s the roller coaster side of imperfect husbands, repentant ex-boyfriends, financial woes and sexual liberation with a touch of a miracle that drives the spirit of their stories.
Aseye and Larry (Chris Attoh) have five children after 10 years and it looks like there could be more of the way. Their financial woes takes a toll on their marriage. Would they be able to work things out? Will Aseye’s lucrative job offer be of help in any way?
Akese and Fela have no children after 10 years and they are killing themselves just to have an issue even if it means they have to have sex many more times than their bodies can take.
Akese’s ex-boyfriend Taylor comes into the picture and it seems he still has a thing for her even though he is also married. What effect will Taylor’s coming back have on her marriage?
There seems to be no end to the troubles Dede goes through in this sequel. She is in a relationship with Sam (Richard Mofe-Damijo) whose daughter Samantha (Beverly Naya) doesn’t really like her.
As if that is not enough, an affair she had with 21-year-old Nigel (Raphael Boakye) comes rearing its ugly head as their sex tape goes viral.
Nigel’s mother Susanna (Gloria Osei Sarfo) is so upset and wants revenge. The case ends up in the police station and fortunately for Dede, all charges against her are dropped but what happens to Dede and Sam?
These and many other questions will be answered when film enthusiasts make their way to the Silverbird Cinemas from December 14.
According to Shirley Frimpong-Manso, they put in a lot of resources to ensure that they come out with a quality product.
“We invested hugely in the movie to get the quality we want, the movie tackles a lot of societal issues and is a must-watch for everyone,” she said.
Some of the cast who were at the premiere were Jackie Appiah, Lydia Forson, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang, Beverly Naya and Raphael Boakye.
