Three Dead, Four Injured In Vehicular Crash At Gomoa Potsin

Three persons died on the spot, while four others sustained various degrees of injuries when two vehicles colided head-on at Potsin Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The tragedy, which occurred in the late afternoon of Saturday, involved a Pontiac Vibe vehicle with registration number GR 5669-18 and the Bechem Rural Enterprise’s Toyota Hilux pick-up with registration number GV 308-17.

A police source told the GNA that investigations had commenced to ascertain the cause of the crash.

According to the Police, the Pontiac vehicle car was heading to Accra from Cape Coast, while the Toyota Hilux was heading to Winneba.

On reaching Winneba Junction, the two, however, collided leading to the tragic outcome.

He said the careful observation of road traffic regulations and patience always prevented such accidents.

The dead and the casualties were both sent to the Winneba Trauma Hospital.

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Police arrived shortly after the tragedy to maintain law and order and ensure smooth vehicular and human traffic.
