VIP bus, trailer involved in gory accident on Accra-Kumasi highway

At least 10 people have been injured in a road accident at Mile 44 on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, April 13, at about 4:24 a.m., involving a VIP bus and a diesel trailer.

According to reports, the crash was caused by a wrongful overtaking attempt by the bus, which resulted in a collision with an oncoming trailer.

There were 33 passengers on board at the time of the accident. Out of this number, 10 sustained injuries comprising nine males and one female. No fatalities were recorded.

Both vehicles involved in the crash sustained partial damage.

The injured persons were attended to and subsequently transported to a medical facility for treatment. The accident scene was later cleared to restore the free flow of traffic along the highway.

Authorities have once again urged drivers to exercise caution on the highways and strictly adhere to road safety regulations to prevent such incidents.
