A Toyota Voxy vehicle which was heading towards Assin Fosu in the Central Region from Accra has been intercepted by the police for carrying arms and ammunition without authority.
The arrest was made by police officers who were at a snap checkpoint duty on the highway in the Apam area of the Central Region.
The Voxy vehicle with registration number GT 9748-26, was taken to the Apam Police Station together with 14 yellow and brown boxes of shot gun ammunition.
The boxes were found in the vehicle without documentation hence the driver’s arrest.
The exhibits have since been retained at the Apam Police Station together with the suspect driver, who is in police custody assisting with further investigations.
