Four dead, one injured in Tuba tollbooth accident

Four people have been killed in a road accident that occurred on Sunday (October 26, 2025) near the Tuba tollbooths in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

One other person, who sustained injuries, is currently receiving treatment at a health facility.

The victims were on board a Sprinter bus travelling from SCC towards Kasoa in the Central Region when the incident happened.

According to information gathered by the Daily Graphic, a woman attempted to cross the road in front of a vehicle that was ahead of the bus.

In an effort to avoid hitting the pedestrian, the driver of the vehicle applied the brakes suddenly, causing the speeding bus to crash into the rear of the vehicle and somersault.

The impact resulted in deaths and injuries. The bus was reportedly being driven by a spare driver, with two conductors also on board.

At the time of filing this report, police sources said the identities of the deceased were yet to be established.

They added that investigations into the cause of the accident were underway.
