IGP reshuffles Police top hierarchy

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has effected changes in the Police top hierarchy, with immediate effect.

A letter titled “Postings – Senior Police Officers”, dated February 2, 2026, and sighed by the IGP, announced the new command changes.

Under the reshuffle, Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba moves from Director-General, Technical to Director-General, National Police Academy and Training Directorate, while COP Iddi Lansah Seidu moves from Welfare to Technical.

COP Dr Vance Baba Gariba has been reassigned from Operations to Research and Planning, with COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe moving from Police Professional Standards Bureau to Operations.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Darko Offei Lomotey moves from Research and Planning to Police Professional Standards Bureau, while DCOP Eric Ken Winful leaves the Police Academy to Welfare.

At the regional level, DCOP Charles K. Adu moves from Central Region to Eastern South Region, while DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi takes over as Central Regional Commander.

Other changes include DCOP George Ankomah to Eastern North Region and DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo, Director/ ICT National Headquarters, to Central MTTD, Ashanti Region.
