Six students of the Aggrey Memorial Senior High School have been arrested and detained by the police for assaulting and robbing a student of Adisadel College in Cape Coast.
The students, all juveniles, allegedly attacked Master Rexford Owusu-Ansah, a final year student of Adisadel College, at Pedu Junction and took away his Iphone 17 Pro Max, his shoes and a cash amount of GH¢1,400.
The offenders were handed over to the Kotokuraba Police by School authorities on Friday, February 20, around 19:30 hours.
Master Owusu-Ansah and two of his friends, were returning to school from the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on the final day of the inter-colleges’ sports festival held in Cape Coast, the police said in a statement.
On their way, they were suddenly accosted by the six boys without provocation but two of the victims managed to escape.
Unfortunately, Master Owusu-Ansah was caught, kicked onto the floor and beaten to a pulp, and his valuables were taken away from him.
He was rushed to the stadium clinic and later referred to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital where he was treated and discharged on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
A police medical form endorsed by a medical doctor showed a fractured nerve bone in his right eye which was swollen with the eyeball almost falling out.
The Central Regional Police Command condemned the incident and assured that the offenders would be brought to justice.
