Two-year-old girl found dead with head and other parts missing at Sefwi Awaso

A two-year-old girl has been found dead at Sefwi Awaso in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, days after she was reported missing.

The deceased, identified as Denisa Neomina, reportedly went missing after a 31-year-old man, Sumaila Adu Atta, allegedly took her from her home in Sefwi Awaso on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Speaking to Adom News, the Assemblyman for the Awaso Electoral Area, Kennedy Ayitey Wisdom, said the incident was reported to the police at Sefwi Bekwai.

Led by DSP Peter Nartey, and the Bibiani District Police Command, led by ASP Sampson Abgeko, a search party was subsequently formed to find the missing girl.

However, the search ended in tragedy when her lifeless body was discovered with her head, both legs and right arm missing.

The Assemblyman has called on parents to be more vigilant and closely monitor their children’s movements to help prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, two suspects have been arrested to assist the police with investigations, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at the Sefwi Anhwiaso Community Hospital morgue for preservation.
