The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with the Police Management Board (POMAB), has promoted 17 officers for their role in recovering suspected narcotics and firearms.

A press release copied to the Ghana News Agency indicated that the promotions were awarded on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in recognition of the officers’ professionalism and dedication.

“The promotions were awarded to officers who played key roles in separate operations that led to the interception of ten wrapped slaps of substances suspected to be cocaine, a narcotic with an estimated value of GHS1,032,650.00, and sacks of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs in the Volta Region, as well as the recovery of an AK47 rifle, a pump action gun and eight live AAA ammunition during a routine patrol operation in Jacobu in the Ashanti Region.
