Ramafest 2026: Kasoa Muslim Community Celebrates Ramadan in Colourful Durbar

Over the weekend, the Muslim community in Kasoa marked Ramafest also known as the Ramadan Festival with a vibrant and colourful durbar.

The event brought together chiefs adorned in beautiful traditional attire, alongside captivating music and cultural performances from various tribes within the Muslim community.

This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Strengthening Unity Towards Peace and Development.”

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, who graced the occasion, emphasized the importance of unity in diversity. She noted that every tribe and dialect matters, adding that the community’s diversity is its greatest strength. According to her, residents must embrace peaceful coexistence and work together towards development in the area.

She urged the public to support the police in combating criminal activities. She further called on residents to support traditional leaders and security agencies to help maintain peace and ensure Kasoa remains a safe and thriving community.

Ramafest continues to serve as a platform that brings together chiefs from different tribes within the Muslim community to showcase their rich culture and traditions, while promoting unity and development in Kasoa and its environs.

The celebration featured energetic drumming and dancing, with attendees proudly displaying their unique fashion styles, creating a lively and memorable atmosphere.

This is the 14th edition and Ramafest remains a unique and significant festival for the people of Kasoa, highlighting the spirit of togetherness and cultural pride within the community.
