University of Ghana postpones reopening date for 2026/2027 academic year sine die

The University of Ghana has postponed the reopening date for the 2026/2027 academic year sine die.

A new date will be communicated, according to a notice issued by the university and dated October 10, 2026.

The 2026/2027 academic year reopening had initially been scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026, but the notice said a revised date for the reopening of the University will be announced in due course.

In the meantime, students have been reminded to complete their academic registration online using the procedure outlined in the previous communication, to secure their places for classes and ensure their eligibility to participate in the random bed allocation which will be conducted soon, the notice signed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Students Affairs, Prof Gordon A. Awandare said.

NOTICE TO ALL STUDENTS POSTPONEMENT OF REOPENING DATE FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Management of the University of Ghana wishes to inform all students that the reopening of the University for the 2026/2027 academic year, initially scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026, has been postponed. A revised date for the reopening of the University will be announced in due course.

Management sincerely regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause and appreciates the patience and understanding of students as arrangements are made for the reopening.

In the meantime, students are reminded to complete their academic registration online using the procedure outlined in our previous communication, to secure their places for classes and ensure their eligibility to participate in the random bed allocation which will be conducted soon.
