Thousands fill Accra Sports Stadium for Shattafest 2026

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale delivered an energetic and emotional performance at the Accra Sports Stadium as thousands of fans gathered for Shattafest 2026, which coincided with his birthday celebration.

The musician broke down in tears while looking across the packed stadium during his performance, in one of the memorable moments of the night.

Shatta Wale, dressed in white, stepped onto the stage in gigantic fashion to a rousing welcome from thousands of his fans.

He performed several of his street bangers for hours with members of his Shatta Movement fanbase and other music enthusiasts adoring his stagecraft.

Several Ghanaian artistes, including Medikal, Fancy Gadam, Sista Afia, Edem and Patapaa, also appeared at the event to support Shatta Wale.

The 2026 festival was organised in partnership with MobileMoney Fintech Limited (MMFL), building on the collaboration between the company and the musician during Shattafest 2025 at Independence Square in Accra.

The partnership combines entertainment with customer engagement and efforts to promote the adoption of digital financial services.

Shatta Wale had also expressed a desire to develop the festival into an annual celebration and eventually extend it to other parts of Ghana and beyond.

This year’s music festival would go down as a massive success and one of the biggest concerts of the year, despite Shatta Wale making some controversial statements on stage.

The 2026 event also received support from corporate partners, including Ecobank, Guinness Ghana, AT, Shaxi and Waya among the sponsors.
