Ghanaian fashion icon and actress Nana Akua Addo has broken her silence on the controversy surrounding her marriage, making a series of disturbing allegations about what she claims she endured behind closed doors for years.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session on October 6, 2026, Nana Akua alleged that her estranged husband, Harold Duodu Norman, imposed a 10pm curfew on her and would physically assault her whenever she returned home after the stipulated time. According to the fashion personality, the alleged treatment also contributed to her reduced appearances at red-carpet events, despite being widely known for her elaborate and attention-grabbing fashion looks.
Nana Akua claimed that she was regularly beaten whenever she returned home after 10pm and alleged that her husband also interfered with professional opportunities that came her way, including potential ambassadorial deals. She said that after his family allegedly confronted her, she left the home for about a month, which she claimed allowed her to travel to Milan and Nigeria and pursue some of the opportunities she had previously been unable to take up.
The fashion icon also opened up about a painful pregnancy experience, alleging that she did not receive adequate financial support to seek medical attention. According to Nana Akua, she developed eclampsia during the seventh month of her pregnancy and subsequently lost the baby. She recalled asking her husband for money to go to hospital, but claimed she was told the money would be sent through mobile money even though she was unable to operate her phone at the time.
She further alleged that an altercation involving her mother-in-law took place while she was receiving treatment at the hospital, claiming that she lost her baby three days later. The emotional account has added another layer to the growing public discussion surrounding her marriage, with Nana Akua describing experiences she says she endured away from the public eye.
Her revelations come after videos showing Nana Akua receiving medical treatment, with visible injuries, circulated widely online and triggered intense speculation and discussion about what had happened. While her allegations have generated considerable public reaction, they remain claims made by Nana Akua, and Harold Duodu Norman’s response to the allegations was not included in the account.
