Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC remanded into BNI custody

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded Bono Regional New Patriotic Party Chairman Kwame Baffoe into Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) custody over alleged offensive conduct and false publication.

Baffoe has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of the peace and publication of false news.

He pleaded not guilty.

When the case was called, his lawyers applied for bail, but prosecution opposed the application, arguing that investigations were ongoing.

The court refused bail and remanded him into lawful custody of the BNI.

He is expected to reappear on May 27, 2026.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Emmanuel Nyamekye told the court that the complainant is the Ghana Police Service and stated that Baffoe is a farmer and a politician.

He said that in April 2026, Baffoe allegedly published an online video in which he made remarks to wit: “The Circuit Court Judge is very bais and always doing political case an that her rulings are wrong and full of grammatical errors, in an attempt to incite members of the public.”

He further stated that: “You are not a judge but rather a politician who have covered your hair with a sack and claim you are a judge.”

DSP Nyamekye said Baffoe subsequently mounted attacks on the said judge on social media following comments from a pastor concerning the Vice President’s ongoing trial at the Adenta Circuit Court, presided over by the judge.

He said that the video and other materials were being compiled for submission to the Police Forensic Laboratory for analysis, and that investigations were ongoing.
