The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisation (GFD) branch in the Oti Region, has submitted a petition to Parliament through the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC), to expedite action on the passage of the Legislative Instrument (L.I) for the Disability Act 2006 (Act-715).

The petition signed by Mr Emmanuel Donkor, Oti Regional President of GFD, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) highlights the urgent need to operationalize the Act, which aims to protect the rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The petition stressed that the L.I was crucial for ensuring access to education, healthcare, employment, and social services for PWDs.

‘We call on parliament to prioritise this to improve the lives of PWDs in Oti Region and Ghana as a whole,” Mr Donkor added.
