13 dead, five critically injured in Sege-Ada highway crash

Thirteen people have died and five others sustained critical injuries in a road crash involving a Ford Transit and a Toyota Hiace on the Sege-Ada highway.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, when the two vehicles were travelling from Sege towards Ada.

A total of 18 people were involved in the crash, with 13 losing their lives, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Firefighters from the Sege Fire Station responded to the scene and assisted in rescuing the victims and managing the casualties.

The five injured victims were conveyed to the Sege Polyclinic, where they are receiving medical treatment.
