‘Allow me some rest, I didn’t disappoint my constituents’- Freda Prempeh to saboteurs

‘Allow me some rest, I didn’t disappoint my constituents’- Freda Prempeh to saboteurs

Dr Freda Prempeh, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Constituency has criticized her political saboteurs, asking them to allow her some rest after serving 12 years in Parliament.

She encouraged the constituents to push for the progressive and sustainable development of the constituency, instead of allowing themselves to be swayed by her political detractors in the area, just
to make her unpopular in the eyes of the masses.

“I decided not to talk, but I think it’s time the constituents rather press-forward and demand solutions to their emerging development needs, than giving in to the political saboteurs because politics is for development which I have duly paid my dues here”, the former outspoken MP and former minister of state indicated.

In an interview with the media at Dayaw-Nkwanta, the constituency capital in the Ahafo Region, Dr Prempeh said it was unfortunate that: “My political saboteurs are still determined to dirty my image and
hard-won reputation, though I have been out of politics for about a year now”.

She explained that her criticism comes at the wake of the circulation of some videos on the social media and other blogging sites with her saboteurs inciting and making her unpopular in the eyes of the masses.

Highlighting some achievements during her tenure as the MP for the area, Dr Prempeh said “if you wouldn’t be grateful at all then don’t allow my political detractors to influence you because all what I did
in the constituency is glaring for all to see”, the MP stated.

Dr Prempeh said through her dent of hard work, exceptional human relationship and social capital, she was able to facilitate the rehabilitation of several roads and bridges including the asphalting of the Adrobaa-Techire road, Sukuumu-Mankranho-Baffoekrom as well as Bomaa-Tanokrom, Bomaa-Onwe, Bomaa-Nkwanta and Bomaa-Tanokrom road and many others.

“In our tenure of office there was nothing like DRIP machines, however I managed with my meagre resources to reshape many of the deplorable condition of roads to make life better for my constituents”, she stated.

Dr Prempeh regretted that due to some political propaganda from her saboteurs, construction works on the Duayaw-Nkwanta-Bomaa stretch, a major road in the area which she facilitated its constriction was
stalled with that particular road very deplorable now.

“My brother, if some of my constituents can’t remember me for anything, at least they should remember that I personally built 150 boreholes, 25 toilet facilities, 12 Community-based Health Planning
Services (CHPS) and more than 10 durbar grounds, spread across the various communities”, she stated.

Dr Prempeh said she extended electricity to Bomaa-Onwe, Bomaa-Nkwantabisa, Bomaa-Mamponteng, Apesika as well as Tanokrom farming communities.

“With these and a number of projects, I am really convinced that I did not disappoint my constituents”, she added.
