Ashanti Region: Two employees found dead in parked vehicle at Atonsu Agogo

Two employees of a Chinese-owned company, Asomdwie Rubber Company, have been found dead in a parked vehicle at the premises of a shoe factory at Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, identified as Baba and a female colleague whose name is yet to be confirmed, both worked at the company, which specialises in plastic processing. Baba was a senior staff member, while the woman had been with the company for less than two months.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear. The pair were discovered on the back seat of the car, with the woman’s head resting on Baba’s shoulder. Baba was reportedly wearing only a singlet and shorts. At the time of discovery, the car’s tinted windows were rolled up and the doors locked.

Sources indicate that staff of Asomdwie Rubber Company had earlier attended the wedding of one of their managers on Saturday, November 22, where both deceased employees were present.

Later that evening, the female employee reported for her shift but complained of feeling unwell and was permitted to go home. Around 8 p.m., residents saw Baba’s vehicle enter the area and park, with the engine initially running before it went off.

The vehicle remained at the same spot throughout Sunday, November 23. It was not until Monday, November 24, that workers and residents detected a foul smell and notified the police. Officers broke the windows to access the vehicle and discovered the bodies.

Further reports suggest that Baba married in early August 2025, and his wife is currently pregnant. The female colleague was also said to be preparing for her wedding, scheduled for December 2025.
