INNORGHTS Ghana urges inclusive negotiations to protect children, as Israel-Iran conflict escalates

INNORGHTS Ghana urges inclusive negotiations to protect children, as Israel-Iran conflict escalates

The INNORIGHTS Ghana, a child rights Non-governmental Organisation on Monday called on the United Nations (UN) and regional blocks to facilitate inclusive negotiations, and protect the lives and dignity of the innocent children, as the Israel-Iran conflict intensifies.

INNORIGHTS Ghana commits to promote the welfare and protects the rights of vulnerable children across the globe.

“The UN and regional bodies to ensure that the innocent children are protected and also uphold international humanitarian laws”, it indicated in a statement issued and signed by Mr Peter Boateng, the Executive Officer of INNORIGHTS Ghana.

A copy of the statement made available to the media in Sunyani said “a peaceful world is a world where children can learn without fear, play without peril, and dream without disruption”.

It said: “let’s endeavour to build that world together not through war, but through wisdom and respect for human dignity, and not through domination, but through dialogue”.

The statement said: “In the wake of the recent air strikes by the United States on Iran and the impassioned declaration by the Secretary-General of the United Nations: “There is no military solution”, “the only path forward now is diplomacy and the only hope is peace”.

INNORIGHTS Ghana therefore adds its voice to the growing global call for restraint, reason, and reconciliation, it stated, saying “we are deeply alarmed by the consequences of escalating violence in the Middle East”.

Beyond the immediate loss of lives and destruction, such actions destabilize entire regions, displace millions, including children and compound the trauma faced by refugees and migrants.

The statement indicated that: “The world is yet to recover from the ravages of the war between Russia and Ukraine and the Trade War between America and China too”, noting that “the reverberations of war do not respect borders; they threaten peace, progress, and humanity itself”

“Africa is not immune. As leaders across the continent have cautioned, the effects of this conflict will strain economies, deepen insecurity, and disrupt livelihoods in countries like Ghana, where global interdependence is already felt through energy markets, migration flows, and food security”, it added.

INNORIGHTS Ghana therefore called on all global powers and international institutions to prioritize dialogue over destruction, mediation over militarization, and humanity over hostility.

“True peace can only emerge when diplomacy becomes the language of leadership”, it urged.
