YDG Call for Applications for Cohort Six Now Open

YDG Call for Applications for Cohort Six Now Open

The Young Diplomats of Ghana (YDG) has officially opened applications for its sixth cohort, inviting young people with an interest in diplomacy, leadership, and policy advocacy to apply.

YDG is an initiative dedicated to training and developing a new generation of young global leaders equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to transform the African continent through diplomacy and effective policy engagement.

Since its inception, the initiative has inspired and empowered young people in Ghana to actively participate in diplomatic discourse and governance processes. The sixth cohort marks another milestone in YDG’s journey of nurturing future leaders committed to democratic values and good governance.

For decades, young people in Ghana and across Africa have often been excluded from major national conversations and decision-making processes. Despite their numbers, energy, and innovation, their voices have largely remained underrepresented in policy formulation and leadership spaces.

The Young Diplomats of Ghana initiative was established in recognition of the vital role diplomacy and leadership play in promoting democracy and good governance, and in acknowledgment that the future of the continent rests in the hands of its youth. Through structured training, mentorship, and advocacy, YDG seeks to bridge this gap by equipping young people with the capacity to contribute meaningfully to national and global policy discussions.

Young people with a passion for diplomacy, international relations, and leadership are therefore encouraged to apply and position themselves to be part of Africa’s transformation agenda.

Theopening of applications for Cohort Six presents another opportunity for aspiring young diplomats to develop the skills and confidence needed to influence governance and policy-making. As Africa continues to navigate complex global challenges, initiatives such as YDG remain critical in empowering the next generation to lead, advocate, and shape a stronger future for the continent.
